Who is REHAU? And what does the company stand for?

The company generates continuous growth through its expertise and innovative capabilities in materials development, systems design and surface technology. We are already directing our developments toward such future-significant topics as energy efficiency, renewable energy, water management, mobility and future living. Some 20,000 employees at over 170 locations around the world ensure the success of the independent and privately held company.

Founding of the Company
Founded in 1948 in the Bavarian town of Rehau, the company found many opportunities to replace traditional materials with more effective, polymer-based materials. Initial products included shoe welting, garden hose and automotive components.

In 1962 REHAU opened its first UK Sales Office and warehouse in Slough, Berkshire, a sales office in Manchester followed in 1969.

With REHAU UK’s continuing expansion, this lead to the opening of 2 production facilities, Almlwch in 1975 and Blaenau Ffestiniog in 1979.
The expansion lead to the relocation of the UK Head Office to Ross-on-Wye, Herefordshire in 1995.

In 2000, company founder Helmut Wagner transferred control of the company to his sons. Jobst Wagner became President of the Board of Directors and Dr. Veit Wagner became Vice President.

At first, REHAU successfully established itself in Germany and the surrounding countries. It soon expanded throughout Europe and then to North America and Asia/Australia. Today REHAU is represented worldwide in more than 50 countries.

By focusing on medium- and long-term goals, rather than emphasising short-term profits, REHAU will remain an independent and reliable business partner. With an emphasis on stable growth, the company targets industries and regions that promise long-term potential.
